James is no stranger to playing on Christmas Day. Since LeBron James joined the Lakers, they have played on Christmas Day every year. Previously, James had played on Christmas Day with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat. Looking ahead to this year’s games, James called on social media for the return of Christmas Day-specific jerseys.

The last time the NBA had jerseys specifically for Christmas Day was in 2017. After that year, the NBA’s jersey contract with Adidas expired and Nike took over as the NBA’s jersey manufacturer. 2008 was the first year the NBA decided to produce jerseys specifically for Christmas and they became a popular item among players and fans. Who knows, maybe on the next NBA Christmas Day Nike will listen to LeBron James and come back…
