Orlando beats Spurs: Banchero starts in quintet but doesn\’t shine

The Orlando Magic tonight won their first NBA preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs with a Paolo Banchero who started in the quintet and finished with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

The Seattle native did not do much better than his debut against the Memphis Grizzlies, despite the fact that the opponent marking him was not Dillon Brooks. His shooting percentage was not excelled, only one shot and one more basket, as he finished with an unmemorable 3/8 from the field, which becomes 2/7 if you consider shots from two.

The argument is that from the first overall pick, he is expected to make an immediate impact on the league, to score an average of 20 points right away. Right now the guy who will wear the Italbasket jersey is struggling, no use hiding behind a finger, but that doesn\’t mean he can\’t shine and win Rookie of the Year. We are only in the second preseason competition.

Although the night was not memorable, here is a nice dunk over Zach Collins\’ head:

Now there is little to talk about and there is much to work on. And we are confident that Paul Banchero will do so, trying to take the Orlando Magic as high as possible.
