Nikola Jokic did it again: THIRD MVP

Nikola Jokic brought home the third MVP award of his career, all in the last four seasons. The Serbian was awarded as best player of the regular season preceding Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the other two finalists, and entering a very small circle. In fact, there were so far only 8 players capable of winning 3 or more MVPs in NBA history: the recordman is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 6, followed by Michael Jordan and Bill Russell’s 5. At 4 are LeBron James and Wilt Chamberlain, while at 3 are Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and now precisely The Joker.

Jokic this season has led the Denver Nuggets to second place in the West with a 57-25 record (tied with the Thunder first). The Serbian has maintained 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 9.0 assists on average, shooting 58 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc. Another dominant season.

In the voting Nikola Jokic scored 926 points, outclassing the competition. Doncic, with 640, finished second, while SGA finished third with 566 points. Of the 99 available votes, as many as 79 put the Serbian in first place. All results here.
