Zion Williamson relapses: recovery time lengthens

It did not seem like something particularly serious the muscle injury suffered by Zion Williamson in early January. Instead to date, the New Orleans Pelicans superstar has yet to return to the court and will not even participate in next weekend’s All Star Game. Not only that, David Griffin, vice president of NOLA, reported earlier that Zion has suffered a relapse and thus the recovery time has been further lengthened.

It will still take several weeks for Williamson to recover, who even after the break for All Star Weekend will miss so many games.. This is very bad news for the Pelicans, who after tasting the top spots in the West are now seventh with a 29-28 record. In the absence of its star, New Orleans has won only 6 of 20 games.

The news is worrying because Zion Williamson is known, at least in these early years of his career, to have a very fragile physique. After missing all of last season due to injury, the Duke product in this RS was finding continuity but, after 29 games played, was again forced to stop. Before he went down, Zion was scoring. 26.0 points average.
