Tim Duncan and Tony Parker spent many years together in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs and became close friends. Tim Duncan played in San Antonio from 1997 to 2016 and Tony Parker from 2001 to 2018. The two were part of the Spurs’ “big three,” which also consisted of Manu Ginobili. The three were together from 2002 to 2016 and won four NBA championships together. Although they eventually got along very well., Tim Duncan apparently did not talk to Tony Parker when the latter was a rookie.
The point guard talked about it recently and explained why Duncan was not talking to him, and his explanation elicited much laughter in the NBA community.
“In my rookie year Timmy wouldn’t talk to me. People think I’m crazy when I say that, but it’s true. Timmy doesn’t like French people. He doesn’t like my French accent.”.

It seems that Duncan and transnsalpine had a bit of a rocky start with the Spurs, but it all worked out in the end, which is all that matters. Parker’s French accent must have become less annoying for Duncan over the years.
