Suddenly, Draymond Green’s future with the Golden State Warriors has been called into question. This after the former Defensive Player of the Year decided to decline the player option on his current contract to enter NBA free agency this summer. It is not a complete surprise, but the fact that it is now possible that Green could end up leaving the Warriors in the offseason could prove troubling for the Dubs’ many fans.
According to ESPN’s NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski, however, there is nothing to worry about here for Warriors supporters. The well-known league insider stated. Draymond Green’s decision is merely “procedural” and that he now intends to begin negotiations with the Warriors on a new contract:
“These are two parties who really want to come to an agreement. Draymond and agent Rich Paul, they don’t have the attitude that they really want to go somewhere else. I think there is definitely a desire on both sides to continue together. They really want each other.”.

Simply put, Woj does not believe Draymond Green is going anywhere soon. He has a real desire to stay with the Dubs and potentially fight alongside Steph Curry and the rest of the gang for their fifth title.
