While most of us were frantically preparing for NBA free agency, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant took it upon himself to make himself well heard. A few hours before free agency opened, news broke of KD’s desire to be traded by the Nets. This despite the fact that Kevin Durant’s good friend Kyrie Irving had previously opted to proceed with the player option on his deal with the Nets for next season.
According to rumors, however, Kyrie has nothing against Durant in his decision to jump ship. This comes via RealGM on Twitter:
Kyrie Irving is “fully supportive” of Kevin Durant’s trade request to the Nets.

This is not a big shock. Kyrie and KD are best friends, and in the end, their relationship will always be bigger than basketball.
These two shook up the basketball world when they decided to form a super team in Brooklyn a couple of years ago, but unfortunately things did not go as planned for them. Their time as teammates now seems to be over as both players try to build their respective legacies separately.
