Wembanyama redeems himself right away: double-double in Summer League

Victor Wembanyama had received some criticism for a bad performance in his Summer League debut, but tonight he redeemed himself brilliantly against the Portland Trail Blazers lacking Scoot Henderson.

The Frenchman put up a performance from 27 points and 12 rebounds, the result of 9 of 14 from the field, certainly better than the debut in which he had stinted, receiving a lot of criticism from those who stood at the window hoping he would fail.

The Spurs thus win their first game on Summer League thanks to Wembanyama, who immediately shows what he is capable of both in terms of scoring and rebounding, to which he also added 3 stoppages. Only jarring note the 3 lost balls., which can be forgiven in a 27+12r double-double.

Let’s see if the French baby phenom will continue with these numbers or will have a decline, which can be expected, having to adapt to the NBA world. One cannot imagine him coming in and smashing the moment immediately, it is quite physiological to see him have ups and downs.

The San Antonio Spurs will play their next Summer League match in Las Vegas on Wednesday the 12th against the Washington Wizards and we are sure that Wemby will do everything to dominate there as well.
