This could be the last season in the NBA for James Harden, according to Paul Pierce

The future of James Harden is still mysterious. The player of the Philadelphia 76ers broke with president Daryl Morey and has been asking for a trade since July, which so far has not come. Currently, the Beard is not even in Philadelphia when there are only a few days left before the start of the regular season: of course, he has never taken the court in preseason and has participated in only one practice in the last two weeks.

While news on Harden’s situation is awaited, in Kevin Garnett’s podcast “KG Certified”, Paul Pierce even speculated that this could be his last season in the NBA for the former Rockets.

“This could be James Harden’s last year in the NBA. I mean, think about it: he’s made so much money. What I’m saying has nothing to do with his game, but we saw what happened with Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony. Although eventually ‘Melo decided to downsize his role and came back to the NBA to play a few more years. But Harden wants to have a certain role. There must be conditions for him to go somewhere where they welcome him with open arms and say, ‘This is your team.'” Pierce said.

In short, to paraphrase the Boston Celtics legend, Harden may not find teams willing to shoulder the burden of such an unwieldy and pretentious personality, given the failures in both Brooklyn and Philadelphia.
