Stephen Curry becomes a … sumo wrestler

Yes, you read the title correctly. Stephen Curry became for a few minutes a sumo wrestler.

This is an initiative put in place by the NBA and the Golden State Warriors in Japan, where the Bay Area franchise is playing some pre-season games.

As is always the case when it travels abroad, the American league is taking advantage of it for a series of marketing activations on the ground. Golden State and Rui Hachimura’s Washington Wizards have faced each other twice at the Saitama Super Arena, the arena where the games of the last Olympics were played.

Two wins for the Warriors, who were also protagonists on another “ground.” Stephen Curry and his teammates, in fact, participated in a training session for sumo wrestlers, having their portraits taken in the ring together with some performers of this discipline. Very funny photographs that made the rounds of the web.

An experience that greatly amused Curry himself.

The best thing was watching them train and then sharing the ring with them for a few minutes. We had the opportunity to see up close the discipline and the mental attitude with which they live in this space, it was incredible.
