Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam joined an elite club of NBA stars after scoring 52 points in their win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
New York has always been considered a cult basketball city because of its passionate fanbase. That said, it is always difficult for opposing teams to score so many at Madison even during a team’s difficult years. The fans don’t make it easy.
However, there have been several who have often had success playing in New York, including LeBron James, Steph Curry, and James Harden.
With Siakam now over 50 points, the four of them are the only active players to have scored 50 or more points at Madison Square Garden, which says a lot about how difficult it is to do so. Not even the likes of Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid or Devin Booker have been able to do it, despite their tremendous ability to make the basket.
He is also the 5th player in Raptors history to record a 50-pt game. https://t.co/YtxvNPvjte
Siakam shot 17 of 25 from the field and made 16 of his 18 free throws as he punished the Knicks and propelled the Raptors to a 113-106 victory.
