In the past few hours Kevin Porter Jr., a Houston Rockets player, was arrested in New York for beating his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick. The girl reportedly suffered facial lacerations and neck pain.
While judicial developments on the matter and perhaps even a sanction from the NBA (which can punish off-court behavior as well) are awaited, Gondrezick’s sister’s threatening message arrived via Instagram. Kalabryna Gondrezick-Haskins tagged Porter and explicitly threatened him: among the many insults, there is a “You can’t think of touching my sister and not being touched.”. But also: “You will have to pray that you will still be able to walk, not to say play basketball.”.
Kalabryna herself is not exactly a quiet person, so threats to Porter Jr are to be taken quite seriously. In 2021, the girl had beaten her boyfriend, NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins, causing him to lose a tooth and tear his lip. The whole thing had happened in Las Vegas, where the two had officially gone to “celebrate their love.”.
