Popovich confirms: Wembanyama and the Spurs will play in France

Victor Wembanyama is the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year, with eye-popping figures already in his first year: 20.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 stoppages per game and an established role from go to guy on the Gregg Popovich-coached team, which is in the midst of rebuilding and currently has the third-worst record in the NBA (15-53).

It was news a few hours ago that Victor Wembanyama will most likely return to play in that Paris which has been his basketball home in the 2022/23 season, in which he wore the Metropolitans 92 jersey: the NBA has already organized 3 regular season games in the French capital, in 2020, 2023 and 2024, and aims to repeat the experience in 2025 as well, where rumors let it be the San Antonio Spurs the protagonists, along with the Indiana Pacers.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich himself confirmed the rumors, responding with a peremptory “We’re going” to a reporter’s precise question.
