As the hours passed, what were the other offers, besides the one from the Dallas Mavericks, for Kyrie Irving. After the one from the Lakers, we now know the one advanced by the Phoenix Suns: Chris Paul, Jae Crowder and a host of unspecified draft picks, as reported by Chris Haynes.
Sources: Brooklyn Nets received Los Angeles Lakers’ proposal that did include team’s two first-round picks (2027, 2029) and Phoenix Suns’ offer of Chris Paul, Jae Crowder and unspecified picks: @NBATV pic.twitter.com/cJuABbaYGy

The Nets did not accept this proposal precisely because of Paul’s presence, most likely. CP3 gives few guarantees physically and only in 2021 renewed for another 4 years at maximum salary. The last year of his contract, 2024-25, is not guaranteed but that means Brooklyn would have to pay him $30.8 million at least again next year when Paul will be 38.
So far Chris Paul has played only 34 games this season, with 13.8 points and 8.6 assists average.
