Oklahoma City Thunder big man Chet Holmgren got to see Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic for the first time. The Serbian had the better of the matchup, finishing with 28 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and a 128-95 victory. Holmgren was not bad either, with 19 points and 4 rebounds. After the game, Jokic gave advice to the young Thunder star, as reported by Bennett Durando of the Denver Post.
“He’s a very talented kid, but this is his first year. He’s still learning everything: the game, how fast he’s playing, where he’s advantaged and where he’s disadvantaged. I think he needs experience. I think he needs to put on some weight, if we’re being honest. But yes, he has a unique talent.”
The matchup between the Nuggets and Thunder will surely be one to watch in the future to see the battle of the big men between Nikola Jokic and Chet Holmgren. Jokic is probably the best player in the league, while Holmgren is just starting his career. Let’s see if Chet Holmgren will listen closely to Nikola Jokic and put on some weight.
