Nick Young, also known as Swaggy P, has decided to return to playing basketball and will do so in Dubai with Strong Group in the Dubai International Championship, as confirmed by himself on Twitter:
Nick Young has played 11 seasons in the NBA but has not played basketball since 2019. His new coach in the Middle Eastern Peninsula commented on the signing this way:
“I talked to Nick a few weeks ago to get to know him better. He told me that he still wants to prove that he can play at a high level and so he will be with us next year.”
The tournament in Dubai will be played from Jan. 27 to Feb. 5. As you can understand, this is a small appearance, not a real season, however, it will let us know whether he is still able to play basketball at certain levels or not.
Let’s see if indeed Nick Young will decide to sign with the Dubai lineup and especially if he will play this tournament. Who knows maybe everything will go right and maybe we will find him in Europe next year. After all, he is only 37 years old, he can still give something to basketball if he puts his mind to it.
