A move purely from a salary perspective, since with it the Knicks have freed up $19 million, now reaching about 30 million in space. The almost stated target is one: Jalen Brunson, for whom a four-year, $110 million total offer is ready as soon as free agency starts.
Brunson is coming off a career-best season in Dallas with 16.3 points and 4.8 assists average, the Mavericks would like to confirm him but at the moment New York is favored.
