A coach Mike Budenholzer was fatal in a 4-1 loss in the first round of the Playoffs against the Miami Heat, #8 on the East board. The Milwaukee Bucks announced the separation from coach who led them to an NBA title victory two years ago in the finals against Phoenix. Budenholzer sat on the Bucks’ bench since 2018 and in five seasons always finished with one of the league’s best records.
It was in the Playoffs, however, that Budenholzer always showed all his limitations, with the exception of the 2021 win. The Bucks were eliminated twice in the second round and once in the Conference Finals in the Orlando “bubble,” in addition to the first-round knockout this season, which proved lethal for the coach. In 2019 Budenholzer was also voted Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.
