Miami will dedicate a statue to Wade: compliments of LeBron

LeBron James is having another impressive season for the Los Angeles Lakers; however, his old Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade no longer shares the parquet with him. On the contrary, Wade will be honored with an incredible statue after his long stay in Miami, and LeBron James was quick to react to the news.

James congratulated Wade on social media for Miami’s gesture. His message to Wade was: “Congratulations Trey!!! This is a big deal.”, reads James’ Instagram account. The two basketball stars have known each other since their Heat days, when they won two championships together.

Wade began building his legacy in the Heat before James arrived. Miami selected Wade with the fifth overall pick in the 2003 draft. The former shooting guard spent all but one and a half seasons with the Heat during his 16-year NBA career.

By the end of his career, Wade had amassed 13 All-Star appearances, two All-NBA First Team selections and a top scorer title (2009).

In addition, he had career averages of 22.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.7 steals. He has won three NBA championships. His two titles with LeBron James were among the league’s most exciting moments.
