The Miami Heat pulled off a real coup tonight as they managed to win game 2 at Boston’s TD Garden, thus returning to Florida with the series on 1-1 and consequently avoiding a sweep that seemed likely, given the absence of their best player, namely Jimmy Butler.
Miami, as always, unleashed that extra something in the playoffs that allowed them to pull off a masterpiece in Boston. E that masterpiece is the 23 triples scored, a team record for bombs scored in a playoff game. The Heat, led by a Tyler Herro inspired (24 points, 14 assists and 5 rebounds) and Bam Adebayo’s double-double (21 points and 10 rebounds) posted a 10-0 run in the 3rd period and carried it to the end, finishing with as many as 5 players in double figures. Jayson Tatum ended his performance against the Florida team with 28 points and 8 rebounds, Jaylen Brown did even better but it was not enough to take home the 2-0 lead.
Now let’s see in Miami how the Heat will perform, who need to win both to try to pull off the miracle of eliminating what in the regular season was undoubtedly the best team in the competition.
