LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players of all time, and because of that, he has been a leader on every team he has been on, including the Miami Heat in which Mario Chalmers played.
Not only does he have leadership over the players, but sometimes it seems like James has more influence over the team than a normal player would. Because of this, people joke and call James LeGM, implying that he decides whether he wants to trade someone, take someone, etc.
Some past players have told that other basketball greats, such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, were feared by their teammates. LeBron James was Mario Chalmers’ teammate on the Heat, and Chalmers insists that the fear factor is not the case with James. Here is his exchange with Shaquille O’Neal in The Big Podcast with Shaq.
Shaq: I heard players say, including me, that they feared Mike. I’ve heard players of your generation say they feared Kobe. I have never heard any player say they feared LeBron James.
Mario Chalmers: You know they killed me for this.
Shaq: Why? You will not be killed here.
Mario Chalmers: When I first said that, people killed me for it. I didn’t think the players feared LeBron the way they feared Jordan. It’s not that you shouldn’t fear Bron, I just think at the end of the day Bron went through so much that he wanted to be liked.
