To say that coach Mike Malone enjoyed Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets title parade tonight would be an understatement at this point. The veteran coach just won his first NBA championship and celebrated it exactly as you would expect.
There have been more than a few memorable Mike Malone moments since the historic parade. Another that stood out was the 51-year-old savagely attacking anyone who chose not to vote Nikola Jokic as this season’s best player:
“Did you guys know that Jokic didn’t win his third consecutive MVP because the voters didn’t want to vote for him?”.
“You guys know he stat pads right? You guys know he didn’t win a 3rd in a row MVP because the voters didn’t want to vote for him.”

The MVP competition between Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic really generated a lot of debate. In the end, however, it was the Sixers’ long man who won the trophy, thus stopping the Joker’s streak at only two consecutive MVP titles. Michael Malone just wanted to remind everyone out there what he clearly feels is cinema with Jokic, and there was no better time to do it than while the Nuggets were celebrating their championship.
