Lillard again 3-point contest champion … but had “beef” with referees over certain mistakes

Damian Lillard, star of the Milwaukee Bucks, arrived at NBA All-Star Weekend as the defending champion of the three-point shooting contest. Lillard has always been a good shooter from long distance throughout his career, averaging 37 percent from the three-point line. Dame was able to defend his crown, winning the three-point shooting contest twice in a row, and had a hilarious message for the referees after his win.

“I see the referees out here but they don’t enforce the rules.”, Lillard said. “I saw that a couple of rules were broken, so I thought I could get away with it.”.

Lillard was referring to the fact that Karl-Anthony Towns had his foot on the line while shooting during the three-point contest.

Dame became the first back-to.-back winner of a three-point contest at NBA All-Star Weekend since Jason Kapono won the event in 2007 and 2008. This is the third time Lillard has participated in the contest.

In the final round of the contest, the Bucks’ newest player needed more than 24 points to win, which was as much as Trae Young and Karl-Anthony Towns had scored. In true Dame Time style, Lillard clinched the title with the money ball from his final rack.
