For the first time, an NBA star and a WNBA star faced each other during the All-Star Weekend: the Golden State Warriors’ sharpshooter. Steph Curry, competed against New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu in a 3-point challenge. Again it was a close contest, with Chef eventually beating Ionescu by a nose, 29-26.
After the event, Curry asked to do something similar every year:

The whole thing came about after Sabrina Ionescu shattered Steph Curry’s record of 31 points in the competition when he scored 37 in last season’s WNBA edition, so the two agreed to make it in Indianapolis. Steph Curry was awarded a championship belt with goats on it, which makes sense because he is the GOAT in the shooting world.
Let’s see if the NBA really will implement something like this every year. Surely it would be beautiful, although it is not at all difficult to replicate an epic challenge like this!
