Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have competed against each other for many years, but that did not stop the Black Mamba from welcoming LeBron with open arms when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.
Although Kobe was long retired at the time, he remained an influential figure in the franchise. And so, when James decided to take his talents to Hollywood, Kobe ’s reaction to the move was something everyone looked forward to.
Now, in Hulu ’s latest Lakers documentary titled ”Legacy, ” James recalled the moment he signed with Los Angeles. In the interview he recalled what Bryant said to him on that occasion. Kobe very simply looked at him and said to James: ”You are family now. ”.

As everyone knows, James was a major contributor in helping the Lakers win the championship in 2020 in his second season with the Lakers. Unfortunately, Kobe Bryant was not there to see his new brother LeBron lift that Larry O ’Brien Trophy after his death in a helicopter crash a few months earlier.
