LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers did it! They avoided being swept and broke their slump against the Denver Nuggets.
LeBron James was at his best and all members of the supporting cast, along with Anthony Davis, did their part to stay alive. The execution was flawless, despite some strange setups against the Nikola Jokic-led team. Now, fans are beginning to think that they might do what the Boston Celtics failed to do last year, which was to pull off a reverse sweep after being down 3 games.
A reverse sweep?
The Crypto.com Arena was not the only place where wild statements and stadium chants were heard after the Lakers’ victory. The international nature of the Purple and Gold fandom was on display after the victory in game-4. Although the statements might be a bit too optimistic.
“It’s the same energy. Lakers in 7”, was the sentiment that echoed around the world when the final siren sounded.
Some were simply happy that this series against the Nuggets did not end like last season: “IT’S NOT OVER YET. We won’t be blown away. LAKERS IN 7!!!“
A common denominator among all these sentiments is the crucial role of LeBron James: “If any man can do it, it’s LeBron. Lakers in 7.”
