It was August 2, 2020 when Jonathan Isaac ruptured his cruciate ligament during a game in the Orlando “bubble.” The Magic player, on the rise as one of the NBA’s best defenders that year, missed all of the next two seasons in full because of this serious injury.
The Orlando Magic have always been very cautious, partly because they had no major ambitions in the last two years. Even this season, Isaac has yet to take the court, but his return seems closer and closer. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, after even practicing in 5vs5 over the past few days, tomorrow night. the player will play his first official game since summer 2020. He will do so in G-League with Orlando’s affiliate, the Lakeland Magic. One more step toward a comeback that at this point could take place as early as next week.
The Magic are currently 13th in the East with a record of 15-26, four games behind the Chicago Bulls in 10th place, the last place valid to participate in the Play-in.
