Danilo Gallinari had said he had marked on his calendar the date of the first game between the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics and that he did not see them facing the green-and-whites.
Unfortunately for him, however, it did not go at all as he would have liked because it was a slaughter. The Capitols, in front of their own audience, lost 126 to 107 and the Rooster did not affect at all. The former of the competition was on the parquet for just over 16 minutes and finished with a paltry 1 of 5 from the field and 1 of 2 at the free, for a total of 3 points. He enriched his performance with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 recovered ball. He also lost a possession.
In short, we would have expected much more from him and the Wizards in this “revenge game.” The other European ex of the day, Kristaps Porzingis, did markedly better. than the Italian, proving once again that he is immediately back to his New York days: 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in nearly 24 minutes.
Let’s see if Danilo Gallinari can be more decisive the next time Washington and Boston meet. We have to wait until 2024 because the next match after this one between the two teams is scheduled for Feb. 24.
