Tonight Draymond Green returned to the court after a 16 game absence but the Golden State Warriors were unable to win against the Memphis Grizzlies. In fact, the home franchise beat the California franchise with a final score of 116 to 107, despite the very important absence of Ja Morant, who will be out until the end of the season. But how did the first contest after more than a month of absence go for Draymond Green?
The Warriors’ wing finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds to go along with 4 assists. All in all, it was not a bad comeback, considering that he was on the court for only 23 1/2 minutes. Green closed 2 of 4 from the field, 1 of 1 from three and 1 of 3 from two.
Perhaps the only negative figure is the lost balls because he finished with 3 turnovers, a bit too many for the number of minutes he played, even though it is still true that #23 is the centerpiece of the offensive game of the yellow-blue and almost all the attacks go through him.
Green and the Warriors will play their next match on Wednesday night and Thursday at home to the Utah Jazz by Simone Fontecchio, who have won 8 straight games and are on gas now that they are full strength. It will not be easy to bring home the win for the Californians but, if they want to stay attached to the play-in train, winning in Salt Lake City is critical.
