Gallinari wants to return to the NBA soon — and he has a specific date in mind

Danilo Gallinari ruptured the ACL in his left knee during the FIBA 2023 World Cup qualifying game against Georgia on Aug. 27 and has not played a single second since, either with Italy or the Boston Celtics in the NBA.

Gallinari has been in rehab for several months now and has now shared an important update on his possible return 2022-23 NBA season.

“I want to play by the end of the season and I will play by the end of the season.”, Gallinari told Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe. “I want to play in the playoffs. That’s the idea that helps me get better every day and motivates me even more.”

“After any serious injury in the rehabilitation process, the most difficult part is the mental part. The body will react and the body will improve and you will become stronger than before. But the mental part is the hardest, especially in the beginning, when you do the same thing every day, repetitions all day, it’s hard. But you have to overcome it and now we are here.”

We really hope Gallinari can return to the NBA very soon and can help the Boston Celtics win an NBA title that has been missing for many, too many, years.
