Gallinari after long absence from the field: “Honestly, it’s not easy to be in this situation … but I think I did well.”

Danilo Gallinari has played very little since joining the Milwaukee Bucks. In the playoffs he missed game-1, game-2 and game-3, where he was not really put on the court. In game-4 he played 13 minutes out of necessity because Bobby Portis got ejected in the first half and tonight Doc Rivers gave him additional confidence, leaving him on the court for 20 minutes with 4 points and 6 rebounds.

These are Gallinari’s words in the Bucks’ post win against Indiana:

“Honestly, it’s not easy to be in this situation. It’s never happened to me, I’ve always been a 30-minute-a-game player, even in Atlanta when I started from the bench. It’s something I’ve learned to do, it takes a lot of mental strength, as well as physical work, because you have to train like you’re playing 30 minutes a game, but you have to be mentally ready to take the court every time the coach calls you to go on the floor. You have to follow the game, see what happens, study the game plan, study the opponents, because this is the playoffs, no mistakes are allowed if you want to win games. Again, it’s a new situation for me but I think I did a good job.”, Danilo Gallinari said in the Milwaukee Bucks’ post-game-5 win press conference against Indiana Pacers.

Let’s see what will happen in game-6 in Indianapolis. Surely today we can say that the Rooster is a player who can still hold the court in the playoffs, everything depends on the situations and decisions of Doc Rivers and his coaching staff.
