Draymond Green just had what may have been his best NBA playoff game this season Wednesday night when the Golden State Warriors defeated LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5. The former Defensive Player of the Year put up a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double as he helped the Warriors to a 121-106 win over the fellow Californians.
Green has now reached 60 double-doubles in the playoffs, which is apparently the second NBA record for most double-doubles among active players . The other man on the list along with Draymond Green is none other than LeBron James, who is currently at 130 during his illustrious career.
On Friday’s episode of his podcast, Draymond Green talked about his most recent feat. The Warriors veteran could not help but fan the fact that he joined LeBron on an elite two-man roster:
“LeBron James and I are the only two active players with over 60 double-doubles in the playoffs. That brought me back a little bit. Anytime you get mentioned on a list with LeBron James it’s unbelievable. We all know his resume … You don’t play for records. You don’t play for the accolades. But this is what you work for: to be recognized along with the GOATs. For me, when I saw that, it was really exciting.”
