D’Angelo Russell DISASTROUS, and during a timeout in Game-3…

I Los Angeles Lakers are on the threshold of elimination, down 3-0 in the first round of the Playoffs against the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets. In Game-3, as in the previous two games, the yellow-viola played well in the first half, closing ahead at halftime, only to be completely outclassed in the second half. The worst on the court for the Lakers was definitely one: D’Angelo Russell, who in 24′ never managed to score and shot 0/7 from the field.

The Lakers’ point guard had been close to leaving LA during the season, at one point even being relegated to a role coming off the bench. However, when Darvin Ham had brought Russell back into the quintet, he had responded well. In the Playoffs, however, he is not doing as well: D-Loading in Game-1 had scored 13 points in 41′, shooting 6/20 from the field and 1/7 from three-point range. It had gone a little better in Game-2, with 23 points, until the disaster of Game-3.

Also fueling some of the fans’ dislike of Russell was his attitude. During Game-3, at the most critical moment for the Lakers, the player did not even listen to the timeout, standing on the sidelines.

D’Angelo Russell was probably frustrated because, shortly before, after yet another shooting error, the Crypto.com Arena had begun booing him.:
