Carmelo Anthony expressed his belief that the Denver Nuggets had hidden motives when they gave the #15 jersey to Nikola Jokic, calling it a “petty maneuver.”
‘Melo suggested that this move was an attempt to diminish his legacy, sharing his perspective during an appearance on 7PM in Brooklyn.
“It was a petty maneuver.”, Carmelo Anthony said about the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic. “It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, we have numbers to choose from.’ It was like, ‘Here, take 15.’ And you put Jokic in the middle of it. He doesn’t know what the[bleep]is going on. He could have said, ‘I want number 15.’ They could have said, ‘The 15 is here. I can wear the 15″. Oh, it’s Melo’s number.” He could have worn it because he wanted to pay tribute, but what I think is that they gave him the 15 to try to erase what I did.”.
“Y’all put Jokic in the middle of that.”
