Brooklyn Nets will play a friendly against an Israeli team

This summer Hapoel Tel Aviv will hold a friendly against the Brooklyn Nets, an NBA franchise, according to Israel Hayom.

After Ofer Yanai joined the group as the club’s owner, the team began examining the possibility of increasing the brand’s power in other markets around the world. One of the preferred options was to organize a series of exhibitions and friendlies in the United States and to strengthen ties with Jewish communities in the region.

The friendly game is expected to take place in the summer months at the Barclays Center, the team’s ultra-modern and magnificent building, which can hold about 17,000. The Brooklyn Nets are currently ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference and will try to fight for a playoff spot. Prominent names on the team’s roster include Australian star Ben Simmons, Michael Bridges and Cameron Johnson.

After Maccabi Ra’anana visited the United States last year, another Israeli team will play against an NBA lineup this year.

We’ll see what happens but we are not at all surprised. The relationship between the United States of America and Israel is very good and there are several economic reasons behind these friendlies.
