The renewal of Kyrie Irving with the Brooklyn Nets seemed a foregone conclusion, despite the havoc the player caused with his decision not to vaccinate against Covid. Irving will be a free agent as of July 1, but now negotiations with the Nets have reportedly reached a impasse, as reported by Shams Charania.
Irving may now begin to consider leaving Brooklyn if the right offer comes along. According to The Athletic, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers e Los Angeles Clippers could emerge as possible destinations in the coming weeks. In particular, Irving at the Lakers would find LeBron James, with whom he won his only title in 2016. Making room for the player would be far from easy, however, as the only solution would probably be a sign&trade with Russell Westbrook.
