After the surprising elimination in the first round of the NBA playoffs against the eighth seeded Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo gave a speech to remember, which provoked a massive reaction in the sports world.
Even legendary Real Madrid soccer coach Carlo Ancelotti praised Giannis Antetokounmpo’s words about failure and success.
“What Antetokounmpo said was spectacular … Failure is when you don’t try to do something in the best possible way. When you try to do your best, you have a clear conscience and that is never a failure, not only in sports but in life.” said the four-time UEFA Champions League winner.
As someone who clearly knows what it takes to win, Ancelotti agrees that failure is also part of the journey, or as Giannis said, that “there are steps to take to get to success.”.
“In sports you lose much more often than you win, I have a big trophy case with many trophies, but if I were to include all the ones I lost, it wouldn’t be a trophy case; it would be a house.”, concluded one of the most successful European soccer coaches ever.
