Zion Williamson, test results after muscle injury

Zion Williamson left the field prematurely during the last game due to a muscle injury. Tests showed a strained right thigh that will force the star of the New Orleans Pelicans to a stop of at least 3 weeks.

Pelicans star Zion Williamson will be re-evaluated in three weeks with his right hamstring strain, team says.

Williamson had just returned after a 3-race absence for Covid, and now he is again forced to stop. His numbers speak for him so far: 26.0 points and 7.0 rebounds average, with New Orleans surprisingly in second place in the West. Doing without him for about a month will be really tough for the Pels, partly because they are also missing Brandon Ingram, probably the team’s second best player behind Zion, for now. Ingram has been out since Nov. 25 and currently does not appear close to returning.
