Utah demobilizing? Donovan Mitchell for sale, Patrick Beverley thunders on social media

The Utah Jazz appear to have begun a massive rebuilding effort, dismantling the historic core of recent years to revolutionize the roster with perspective on the coming years.

The trade that brought Rudy Gobert at Minnesota Timbwerwolves should be understood that way, as Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro, and Walker Kessler arrived in change, but most importantly, a substantial package of choices (2023, 2025 and 2027 of completely unprotected, 2029 protected in top-5 and possibility of trading the 2026 one as well).

Now there are chasing rumors of a farewell of Donovan Mitchell, the other prized piece of last year’s Jazz roster. Utah is willing to listen to offers and they are making moves on him. Miami e New York.

The Heat are on the hunt for a star to make the decisive leap toward the title and are monitoring the Mitchell situation as well as the Durant situation. Pat Riley is becoming convinced that. Tyler Herro and/or Duncan Robinson will have to be sacrificed to get high-level players and both are welcome profiles in Utah. I Knicks would like to get rid of Evan Fournier e Derrick Rose, assets that the Jazz do not like but that probably for salary reasons will have to be part of the eventual trade. Much more welcome RJ Barrett (which NY is currently trying to preserve), as well as the various Cam Reddish, Obi Toppin, Immanuel Quickley e Quentin Grimes.

In any case, such operations would weaken the team in the immediate term. A prospect that does not please Patrick Beverley, who arrived a few weeks into the trade for Gobert. The former Rockets asked for clarity during a live stream on his Instagram profile, “Utah, do you want to try to compete or do you want to tank? Let me know if I should commit to you or go somewhere else.” Clear message from Beverley: an eventual departure of Mitchell would lead him to ask to change jerseys.
