Ime Udoka saw his coaching career take a turn for the worse after receiving a one-year suspension from the Boston Celtics for having an illicit affair with an employee of the organization. It is not only his career that is in jeopardy right now as his relationship with longtime girlfriend, Nia Long, has also been called into question amidst this unbelievable scandal.
Now Long has broken her silence about this bombshell. In her official statement, the award-winning actress asked the public to respect her privacy during this difficult time:
In a statement emailed to Boston.com Friday morning, the award-winning actress asked for privacy to “process recent events” and promised to “continue to focus” on her children.
“The outpouring of love and support from family, friends and community during this difficult time means so much to me.”, Long said. “I ask that my privacy be respected as I process recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children.”
Long and Udoka began dating in 2010. The following year she gave birth to their son, Kez Sunday, who is now 10 years old. In June 2015, the couple became engaged. It is a relationship that has been going on for a very long time and, at this point, it is unclear whether they still plan to continue their union.
