Kevin Durant will soon leave the Brooklyn Nets after explicitly requesting to be traded. In fact, his adventure with Joseph Tsai’s franchise ends on June 30, 2022, although the official farewell will come only in a few days and it is not yet clear to which destination.
KD, however, is in essence already a former Nets player. And it is unbelievable that the rift was consummated on this very day, exactly three years later that his arrival in Brooklyn had materialized along with that of Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan. Even then it had to be a few days before the signatures and formalities but in fact Durant’s experience at the Nets lasted exactly three years: from June 30, 2019 to June 30, 2022.
In between was a pandemic and three seasons stingy with satisfaction, in which Brooklyn did not even come close to its stated goal of winning the title. Today, as then, a constant: to unveil the deal the ever-present tweet insider’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
