The NBA has announced the finalists for all individual awards for the 2023-24 regular season. As usual, each award will have 3 finalists and during the postseason the winners will be revealed.

Let’s start with theMVP, for which there are no surprises even though it is probably the most uncertain prize. Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. are the finalists, all of whom could win it for one reason or another. Doncic was the season’s top scorer with 33.9 points average (plus 9.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists). Jokic had another super season, touching the triple-double average for one assist. Gilgeous-Alexander scored. 30.1 points on average and with the Thunder took first place in the West.

The Defensive Player of the Year will likely be a fight between Rudy Gobert and Victor Wembanyama, with Bam Adebayo serving as a third wheel. The San Antonio Spurs’ long man is heavily favored to win the Rookie of the Year, for which the other two candidates are Chet Holmgren and Brandon Miller.

Mark Daigneault in recent days was honored as Coach of the Year by the National Coaches Basketball Association. The OKC coach is also among the finalists for the more classic Coach of the Year, along with Chris Finch of Minnesota and Jamhal Mosley of Orlando.

For the Sixth Man of the Year will be a three-way sprint between Malik Monk, Bobby Portis Jr. and Naz Reid.

The Most Improved Player will instead go to one of Tyrese Maxey, Alperen Sengun and Coby White.
