Stoudemire, major update on domestic violence allegations

Domestic violence charges against former Phoenix Suns star Amar’e Stoudemire have been filed.

Stoudemire got into trouble last December 2022 when he was arrested for allegedly “abusing” one of his teenage daughters. According to reports at the time, Stoudemire punched his daughter in the jaw and slapped her several times for being disrespectful and lying to her grandmother.

After the incident, Stoudemire was taken to cercere. However, the former Suns wing quickly denied the allegations and said they were “based on a report that does not match the facts.” He added that he could never see himself attacking anyone, especially his children.

Now the case has been dismissed, with the Miami-Dade state attorney’s office telling CBS News that “the case was dismissed due to the victim’s inability to cooperate in the prosecution of the case.”

Amar’e Stoudemire also shared a statement on the dismissal of the case, noting that he is “grateful” that it is all over now. He added that his children are doing well even amid the controversy.

“A little over a month ago, my family’s world was turned upside down when I was faced with allegations that we all knew were false, which I immediately and publicly denied. Today I am grateful that, after a full investigation, all charges have been dismissed. Fortunately, my family and, more importantly, my incredible children are all doing well.”
