On the eve of the start of the NBA regular season, Simone Fontecchio told his expectations to Sports Week.
Azure spoke about the season ahead with the Utah Jazz and the possibility of playing at the highest level. Here is an excerpt of his words.
The NBA was an opportunity that maybe would never happen again and I\’m trying to enjoy it, Utah had its scouts follow me, especially the Italian-American Luca Desta and paid the buyout to Baskonia. Here you can work at your best, being there is already a victory but I will definitely grow, I want to establish myself, prove that I am from the NBA. In the last two years I have compared myself with the best players in the world because of the national team so I think I can be there. I\’ll have to get used to a different basketball, I\’ll have to pay my dues because I\’m the new guy but the roster is renewed so there will be opportunities for everyone. Coach asks me to shoot, I think I will play mostly small forward but I can also play the four. I am looking forward to facing LeBron James, he is my idol but I have never seen him live.
