Sacramento fan dies during game with New Orleans

A Sacramento Kings fan who was watching the quarterfinals of the NBA In-Season Tournament against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Golden 1 Center tragically passed away midway through the game.

Although the victim was not named, the team confirmed the heartbreaking tragedy in a statement, explaining that the incident occurred during the first quarter of the game. The Kings noted that there was a medical emergency, and first responders were quick to resuscitate the fan. Unfortunately, efforts to save the victim were unsuccessful.

In the same statement, the Kings expressed their condolences to the victim’s family, via Marc J. Spears of Undefeated.

“During the first quarter of the Kings-Pelicans game, a guest had a medical emergency. Emergency responders responded immediately and administered CPR. Tragically, these efforts were unsuccessful and the guest passed away. The society extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.”, reads the Kings’ statement on the incident.

It is truly a heartbreaking turn in what should have been a day full of expectation and excitement as the Sacramento Kings attempt to win against the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA In-Season Tournament.
