Remember Shabazz Muhammad? He will be doing a workout with the Lakers

A chance is denied to no one. That’s probably what the Los Angeles Lakers when they decided to schedule a workout with Shabazz Muhammad. The American guard, a great college promise in his UCLA days, had been off the NBA radar for years, ending up first in China and then, last season, in the Philippines. Now he will get a second chance with the Lakers, although given the roster and Muhammad’s recent track record, an eventual signing seems unlikely.

Muhammad, 14th overall call-up in the 2013 Timberwolves Draft, played 4 1/2 seasons in Minnesota before moving a few months to Milwaukee. In his career he scored. 9.0 points average in the NBA and his last competition in the league was in 2018.

In recent weeks there had been several players now far from the NBA world who had auditioned with the Lakers, most notably Darren Collison (3 games in yellow-purple last season after even retiring) and Derrick Williams (later ended up at Panathinaikos).
