On Thursday, the NBA released the schedule for the 2023/24 season, including the number of nationally televised games for each of the 30 teams. One game, the one to be held in Portland on Feb. 27, has caused a stir around the league because of its timing and the possibility that the Trail Blazers’ opponent that night is currently in a position to acquire its biggest star, namely the Miami Heat.
The Oregon and Florida franchises will meet in a nationally televised game on TNT less than three weeks after the February 8, 2024 trade deadline, a game that could mark Damian Lillard’s return to the Moda Center if Portland grants his trade request. And, as it happens, for months Lillard’s main suitor has been none other than the Heat, beaten NBA finalists last season, in the hunt for a star to take them to the top.
As previously reported, the Blazers’ only national (non-NBA TV) game of the season is at home vs. Miami on Feb. 27 on TNT, which is after the trade deadline. Wonder what went into that…

Let’s see if indeed this trade between the Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers will materialize and if indeed there will be this return of one of the Oregon franchise’s flagships.
