Police close Ja Morant investigation, but his absence lingers on

Colorado police have closed the investigation begun in recent days into Ja Morant, who had recovered while holding a gun at a club in Glembale, near Denver. One assumption was that the star of the Memphis Grizzlies had handled the weapon while under the influence of alcohol, which is prohibited by Colorado law. In the end, however police found insufficient evidence to bring charges against Morant, since carrying a weapon, even in plain sight, is perfectly legal in the state.

The bad news for the Grizzlies, however, is that Morant will have to miss more than the originally scheduled 2 games. He did not take the court against the Clippers and Lakers, but the Memphis point guard will also miss the next 4 contests: against Warriors, Mavericks (twice) and Heat. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, the 6 games Morant will have missed at the end of this “punishment” could still be increased in the coming days.
