Last night, perhaps even more than the game itself, he entertained the draft with which LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo composed their two teams for the All Star Game. One of the funniest moments was when, with one last call remaining, LeBron had to choose between Nikola Jokic and Lauri Markkanen. At that point Jokic, a two-time MVP in the past two seasons, to avoid the risk of being picked last, got up and headed for James’ team before he even called it. He practically “self-drafted”.
After the match, in which Jokic certainly did not make waves, leaving the scene to other colleagues, the Serb commented: “I wouldn’t draft either. I’m not made for this match.”. The Denver Nuggets center also added that he did not notice Markkanen’s presence and therefore thought he was the last player left to call.
Jokic: “I would not draft myself either. I am not meant for this game.”
