Just like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, so would the Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James, could not believe the offer that Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé received from Saudi club Al Hilal.
For those who missed it, since PSG was interested in selling Mbappé instead of letting him leave for free next summer, Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League submitted a $1.1 billion bid to buy the French striker. The offer includes a whopping $332 million transfer fee for PSG and a one-year salary of $776 million for Mbappé.
Naturally, the news sent the entire sports world into a frenzy. After all, if Mbappe accepts the offer, he will hold the record for the highest transfer and salary ever. Not even James has ever reached this level, despite being the best player in the NBA for years.
On seeing the mind-boggling offer, James himself could not help but joke that he would run like Forrest Gump if a Saudi club were to call Rich Paul and Mav Carter to offer him a similar one-year deal.
Me headed to Saudi when they call @RichPaul4 & @mavcarter for that 1 year deal! ✌🏾🤷🏾♂️😁 pic.twitter.com/IX0VSMZYNb

For such a sum of money, we cannot blame LeBron James for not hesitating to accept the proposal made Mbappé. He could still help build generational wealth, so it is hard for anyone to turn down such an offer.
